SICILY, Syracuse. Deinomenid Tyranny. 485-466 BC. AR Drachm (4.18 g, 6h). Struck under Hieron I, circa 475-470 BC. Horseman riding right / Diademed head of Arethusa right; ΣYRAKOΣION around. Boehringer series XI, 281 (O130/R194); SNG ANS 95/95 (same obv./rev. die); Boston MFA 352 (same dies). VF, toned, small scrape on head of Arethusa. Good metal for issue. Rare denomination.
