A protégé of Charles IV, Thiéri de Boppart, then bishop of Worms, was placed at the head of the church at Metz by Pope Urban V in 1365. An aggressive prelate, he, like his predecessor, was fond of residing at Vic-sur-Seille, though coinage does not appear to have been struck for him there.
