LOCAL ISSUES, Silk Road Region. 5th-8th centuries AD. AV Bracteate (18mm, 0.25 g). Draped female head left, set on lion with five legs and snake attached to hind / Incuse of obverse. Possibly unpublished. Near VF, pierced three times, some bumps on the edge, cracked in the center. An intriguing design, perhaps depicting the goddess Nanaia (Nana)?
