Probus. AD 276-282. Antoninianus (23mm, 4.37 g, 12h). Serdica mint, 2nd officina. 4th emission, AD 277. BONO IMP C M AVR PROBVS AVG (
sic), radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / S O LI INVICT O, Sol driving facing quadriga, head left, raising hand and holding globe and whip; KAB. RIC V -; Pink VI/1 p. 45. Good VF, brown surfaces. Very rare and apparently unpublished obverse legend.

Though beginning with Bono, the emperor’s name appears as Probus rather than Probo, the latter being expected as the legend should be read in the dative case as an issue for whom it was struck.
