CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 290-281 BC. AR Nomos (7.76 gm). Nude warrior on horseback right, holding round shield and two lances in left hand, spear pointed downwards in right; SA below / TARAS right, Taras astride dolphin left, holding dolphin in extended right hand, spindle over left shoulder; prow below. Fischer-Bossert 1113 (V412/R857); Vlasto 586 (same dies); SNG ANS 986 (same obverse die); SNG Lockett 183 (same dies). Attractively toned, good VF. ($400)
