SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Hostilian. As Caesar, AD 250-251. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 11.34 g, 6h). Bare-headed and draped bust right; •• below / Eagle standing right on branch, holding wreath in beak. McAlee 1159(b); Prieur 648. Good VF. Very rare.
McAlee (p. 376) notes, “...Hostilian’s Antiochene provincial coins are the rarest of the emperors of the third century.”
