SICILY, Kamarina. Circa 415-405 BC. Obverse die signed by Euainetos. AR Didrachm (7.79 gm). Three-quarter facing bust of the river god Hipparis with horns on forehead, head turned slightly left; a fish downward on either side of head, border of waves, signature EYAI (not visible on this specimen) on neck / KAM-[A-RI-NA], the nymph Kamarina riding on a swan swimming left; fish swimming below, another in right field. Westermark and Jenkins 162.8 (O4/R3 - this coin); Dewing 579 (same dies); Rizzo pl. vii, 7 (same dies); Kraay-Hirmer 152 (same dies). Toned, nice VF. Very rare. ($3000)
