THESSALY, Thessalian League. Circa 196-27 BC. AR Stater (22mm, 5.83 g, 12h). Nikokrates, Philoxenides, and Petraios, magistrates. Struck circa 44 BC. Head of Zeus right, wearing laurel wreath; c/m: grain ear within rectangular incuse / Athena Itonia right; palm frond to outer right. McClean -; SNG Copenhagen 298. VF, some porosity.

Nikokrates was thought to have been strategos shortly after 44 BC. If the Petraios on this issue is the same as the partisan of Caesar who was killed in 44 BC, then Nikokrates would have to have been strategos before that event.
