LAKONIA, Lakedaimon (Sparta). Circa 35-31 BC. Æ 35mm (27.87 gm). Jugate heads of the Dioskouroi right, each wearing a laureate pileus / L-A, ethnic within laurel wreath. Grunauer Group XX (V2/R5); SNG Copenhagen 592; BMC Peloponnesus -; Laffaille 375. Nice VF, dark green, almost black, patina. Exceptional, as nice as they come. Very rare, only 9 specimens cited by Grunauer. ($2500)
