CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 450-440 BC. AR Nomos (8.06 gm). TA[RAS], Taras on dolphin left, both hands extended; pecten below / Phalanthos seated left on diphros, holding spindle in right hand, sceptre in left. Fischer-Bossert 182b (V88/R130 - this coin illustrated); Vlasto 194 (same dies); SNG ANS -; SNG Fitzwilliam 234 (same dies). Toned, good VF, obverse a bit off-center, nice flan. ($500)
