Julius Caesar. January-February 44 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.55 g, 2h). Rome mint. P. Sepullius Macer, moneyer. Laureate head right; star of eight rays behind / Venus standing left, holding Victory and scepter. Crawford 480/5a; Alföldi Type V (dies unlisted); CRI 106; Sydenham 1071; RSC 41. Near EF, lightly toned, small scratch on obverse, struck from a slightly worn obverse die. Nicely centered and well struck.
