Bronze Ornament. Kushan, circa 3rd century AD. Bronze ornament, possibly used a seal. Holed in center. Four faces contain the following incised designs: 1) the Buddha seated facing on undulating ground line, rays around, sun and crescent flanking head; 2) swastika; 3)
Dharmacakra (Wheel of Dharma); 4) lotus flower. Height: 1.2cm. An interesting piece incorporating an image of the Buddha with symbols from the aniconic phase of Buddhist art.
