Constantine I. AD 307/310-337. Æ Follis (19mm, 3.58 g, 6h). Constantinople mint, 2nd officina. Struck AD 329. Laurel and rosette-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right / Victory seated left on cippus, head right, holding palm branch in each hand, trophy and captive before; B//CONS•. RIC VII 38 note; LRBC 999. Good VF, brown patina.
From the Elliott-Kent Collection.
The issues with the pellet at the end of the mint mark are much rarer than those with the star. RIC speculates that the pellets are just poorly engraved dies that should have stars, but enough exist from many different dies to suggest that they are indeed separate issues.
