PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Ptolemy VI Philometor. Second reign, 163-145 BC. AR Didrachm (22mm, 6.79 g, 1h). Phoenician (Arados?) mint. Dated CY 111 (149/8 BC). Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, wearing aegis around neck / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt; P IA (date) across field. Svoronos 1218; SNG Copenhagen 557 var. (Year 110). VF, rough hoard patina.
Svoronos 1218 is recorded as having the date read PI A and shows an E between the eagles legs, yet the plate shows the date recorded as this specimen and doesn’t show the E. There are traces of an erased I to the right of the P on this coin
