GORDIAN III. 238-244 AD. Æ 'Medallic' As (10.89 gm). IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / PONTIFEX MAX TR P IIII, COS II P P in exergue, Gordian standing left in slow quadriga, holding branch and eagle-tipped sceptre, and being crowned by Victory; before her, two solders. RIC IV 321a; Cohen 289. VF, brown patina, porous. Very rare. ($500)

From the George His Collection of coins of Gordian III, with his ticket. Ex Classical Numismatic Review, XVII/3 (1992), no. 232.

As noted in RIC, this is perhaps a small medallion as it lacks the letters "S C" on the reverse.
