The Kingdom of Westphalia was created by Napoleon for his brother, Jerome. It was comprised of parts of Hesse-Cassel, Brunswick, Hildesheim, Paderborn, Halberstadt, Osnabruck, Minden, etc. In 1813 and 1814 it was divided and returned to its former owners.
