Valens. AD 364-378. AV Solidus (21mm, 4.46 g, 6h). Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. 1st emission, AD 365. Rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Valens standing facing, head right, holding labarum and Victory; SMLVG. RIC IX 1d; Lyon 6; Depeyrot 9/2. Good VF, short, shallow scratch in field behind head.

First Lugdunum issue after reopening the mint because of the outbreak of hostilities with the Alamanni in early AD 365.
