George III. 1806. Restrike Proof Penny in Bronzed Copper. By Taylor. Nine jewels on brooch, without incuse hair curl to right of tie-knot / Three stays from foremast to bowsprit, no gunports, rust under second A. Peck 1350 (R 97); Selig 1311. Unc, small flan flaw in obverse field. Scarce. ($200)
There is an interesting medal struck with this reverse die which does not exhibit any evidence of rust. On the other side of the medal is a legend in six lines, VICTORIA/MAGNÆ/SPES ALTERA/BRITANNIÆ/SOHO 6 AUG/1830. Therefore, the rust must have occurred after 1830.
