Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.08 g, 6h). Rome mint. Draped bust right / Hexastyle temple in which is a seated figure of Faustina Senior. RIC III 343 (Pius); RSC 1. Good VF, toned.

Following her deification, a temple to the Faustina (later rededicated to both Divus Pius and Diva Faustina) was begun on the Via Sacra. Remains of the temple are preserved today, having been incorporated into the construction of the church of San Lorenzo in Miranda.
