BAKTRIA, Pre-Seleukid Era. Sophytes. Circa 305-294 BC. AR Tetradrachm (23mm, 16.43 g, 6h). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl; monogram to left / Owl standing right, head facing; to left, prow of galley right, AΘE to right. Cf. Bopearachchi, Sophytes 8; Bopearachchi & Rahman -; cf. SNG ANS 3; MIG Type 13a (same obv. die as illustrated coin). Good VF.
