More than a century after the counts of Schlick has lost the right to strike coinage at Joachimstal, this coin was struck by Heinrich IV, one of the counts of the family who remained loyal to the Holy Roman Emperor. His mint at Plan (modern day Planá in the Czech Republic), enjoyed local sources of silver and was given the right to strike coins in 1627. However, these issues, from both a technical and historical standpoint, were not nearly as important as the Joachimstal talers created a century before.
