CHINA, Provincial. Jiāngnán (Kiangnan). AR 7 Mace 2 Candareens – Dollar. Imperial Dragon type. Nánjīng mint; H. A. Holmes, mintmaster. Dated cyclical year 1-5 (1904). HAH and CH between “zào shěng nán jiāng,” and “jiǎ kù píng qī qián èr fēn chén,” (Made in Jiāngnán province/jiǎ [cyclical date stem]/Treasury scales equal to 7 qián and 2 fēn/chén [cyclical date branch]) in Hànzì, “bǎo yuán guāng xù,” (Valuable yuán of Guāngxù) in Hànzì around similar legend in Manchu script / KIANG NAN PROVINCE/(rosette) 7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS (rosette), flying imperial dragon facing, coiled leftward around fireball and surrounded by stylized clouds.
