CHINA, Provincial. Jílín (Kirin). AR 7 Mace 2 Candareens – Dollar. Imperial Dragon type. Jílín Shì mint. Dated cyclical year 5-9 (1908). “zào shěng lín jí wù kù píng qī qián èr fēn shēn,” (Made in Jílín province/wù [cyclical date stem]/Treasury scales equal to 7 qián and 2 fēn/shēn [cyclical date branch]) in Hànzì, “bǎo yuán guāng xù,” (Valuable yuán of Guāngxù) in Hànzì around 11 / KIRIN • PROVINCE/7 • CAINDARINS • 2, flying imperial dragon facing, coiled around fireball and surrounded by stylized clouds; to left and right, “Jílín,” in Mongolian script. L&M 579; Kann 573; KM (Yeoman) 183c. In NGC slab graded MS 64, attractively toned. Very rare.
