HANOVER. Victoria. 1837-1901. AR Crown. Proof Gothic type. London mint. Dated undecimo and mdcccxlvii (1847). Victoria dei gratia britannar · reg : f : d · (in Blackletter [Gothic script]), crowned Gothic bust left; incuse WW at truncation of bust / tueatur unita deus anno mdcccxlvii (in Blackletter [Gothic script]), crowned cruciform coats-of-arms of England, Scotland, and Ireland around central Garter Star; rose, thistle and shamrock in quarters composed of arches ending in lis. Edge: decus (rosette) et (rosette) tutamen (crown) anno (rosette) regni (rosette) undecimo (rosette) (in Blackletter [Gothic script]). L&S type 57; ESC 288; SCBC 3883. In PCGS slab graded PF 66, darkly toned with attractive mirror proof-like fields.
