GAUL, Arausio(?). Octavian, with Agrippa. Circa 30-29 BC. Æ Dupondius (30mm, 18.43 g, 7h). Bare heads of Agrippa and Augustus back to back / Prow right; medallion enclosing a ram’s head above. RPC I 533. Near VF, dark green and black patina.
The attribution to Arausio (Orange) is not entirely certain, but seems logical as the ram’s head is the emblem of the legio II Gallica, which founded the colony.
