THESSALY, Thessalian League. Second half 2nd century BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 2.05 g 12). Head of Zeus to right, wearing oak wreath; behind, monogram of ΑΝ. Rev. ΘΕΣΣΑ / ΛΩΝ Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand and extending shield in her left; at right, on top of Athena’s spear, owl standing right. BMC 44 var. (possibly unpublished). Rare. A lovely piece, toned and of good style. About extremely fine.
