Clodius Albinus. As Caesar, AD 193-195. Æ Sesterius (28mm, 21.74 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck AD 194-195. Bare head right / Saeculum Frugiferum, radiate, standing left, holding winged caduceus and trident. RIC IV 56a. Good VF, dark brown patina. Rare.
“Frugifera” was a title of the colony of Hadrumetum, where Clodius Albinus hailed from. The figure on the reverse is probably a reflection of North African deity.
