THRACO-MACEDONIAN REGION(?), Uncertain. Circa 500-450 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 14.24 g). Phoenician standard. Three foreparts of winged creatures joined together in triskeles form / Quadripartite incuse rectangle, divided diagonally in uneven proportions. Cf. CNG 55, lot 167. Fine, areas of find patina, porosity. Extremely rare, the fifth known (2 in Berlin [ex Demanhur hoard, IGCH 1637], 2 in private collections [incl. CNG 55 coin]).
