STUART. Charles II. 1660-1685. AV Double-crown (27mm, 4.51 g, 6h). Schneider class II. Tower mint; mm: crown. Hammered coinage, second issue, struck April-October 1662. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust left; X (mark of value) to right / Crowned royal coat-of-arms within oval garnished frame. Schneider, Hammered class II, dies O3/R4; Schneider 416 (same dies); North 2756; SCBC 3305. Near VF, lightly toned, slight double strike on reverse, flan wavy in spots.
