IRELAND. James II. 1685-1691. Æ Crown (33mm, 14.05 g, 12h). “Gun Money” issue. Dublin or Limerick mint. Dated 1690. James, armored, on horseback left, holding sword in right hand and rein in left / Crowned cruciform coats-of-arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland around central crown; date across fields. SCBI 22 (Copenhagen), 432; D&F 366; SCBC 6578. Good VF, attractive brown surfaces. Overstruck on 1689 “Gun Money” D&F Type A halfcrown (SCBC 6579).
