PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Darios I. Circa 520-505 BC. AR 1/24 Siglos (5mm, 0.15 g). Head of Persian king or hero right, quiver at shoulder / Incuse punch. Carradice -; BMC -; Klein 759; Winzer 1.1; cf. Traité II 6. Near VF, light porosity, earthen deposits in incuse. Only two known to Winzer.
The specimen in Traité is labeled as a gold 1/48 Daric, which would otherwise be unique and is likely just an error. The weight and size of the coin he cites fits well with this and the small number of other known specimens in silver.
