KINGS of MACEDON. Antigonos I Monophthalmos. As Strategos of Asia, 320-306/5 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 16.97 g, 9h). In the name and types of Alexander III. Tarsos mint. Struck circa 316-301 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monograms in left field and below throne. Cf. Price 3796-3808 for series (attributed to Carrhae?). Near EF, slight porosity. Excellent detail on face of Zeus. Unpublished with this monogram in left field.
