ASIA MINOR, Uncertain. Circa 480-450 BC. AR Tetartemorion (6mm, 0.23 g). Helmeted head left / Quadripartite incuse square. SNG Copenhagen (Cyprus, etc.) 398; cf. SNG Kayhan 742 (obol [uncertain Ionia or Caria]); cf. SNG von Aulock 488 (obol [Kalymna]); cf. Rosen 388-9 (obol [uncertain mint]). VF, toned, some roughness.
This type is known in obols, hemiobols, and tetartemoria (cf. SNG Copenhagen [Cyprus, etc.] 396-398), with the obverse type facing left or right. The style is reminiscent of various issues of EL hektes from Phokaia (cf. Bodenstedt emissions 15 and 30), but also are similar to issues at Methymna and Kalymna.
