BITHYNIA, Koinon of Bithynia. Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ (34mm, 25.94 g, 6h). Nicomedia(?) mint. Laureate head right / Octastyle temple façade set on podium of three steps, pellet in field between central columns; in pediment, ornate entablature consisting of metopes, each with central pellet; above, male figure standing facing, holding patera over lighted altar and holding scepter, pellet to left and right; aphlasta as acroteria. RG 38; cf. SNG von Aulock 284; SNG Copenhagen 324 var. (bust type); BMC 12. VF, dark green and brown patina, some minor cleaning marks. Well centered and struck. Impressive.
