The Caesarians. Julius Caesar. April-May 44 BC. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.83 g, 4h). Rome mint. P. Sepullius Macer, moneyer. Tetrastyle temple with globe in pediment / Horseman galloping right, holding reins and whip; palm frond and wreath to right. Crawford 480/21; Alföldi Type XXII, 21 (A3/R5); CRI 110; Sydenham 1076; RSC 44. Good VF, attractive gray and iridescent toning, a few light scratches, and as usual for this issue, it is struck off center and has areas of flat strike. Rare.
