GREECE (Ancient), Troy. “Helen of Troy”. Cast Æ Medallion (45mm, 64.32 g, 6h). In the style of D. Poggini. Cast mid-late 16th century. Paris seated right below a tree, receiving the apple from Mercury, flying above and holding caduceus; to right, Juno, Venus, and Minerva standing left along with Cupid, shooting an arrow at Paris; in background, a flock of sheep before the city walls of Troy; in foreground, river god reclining left, holding overturned urn from which water flows. Attwood 809; cf. Molinari 29 (struck). VF, brown patina, some marks. An early aftercast.
