ANGLO-SAXON, Kings of All England. Cnut. 1016-1035. AR Cut Halfpenny (18mm, 0.41 g). Quatrefoil type (BMC viii). Aylesbury mint; Aethelwine(?), moneyer. Struck circa 1017-1023. Crowned bust left in quatrefoil / Voided long cross with triple-crescent ends and pellet at center, over quatrefoil. SCBC 1157; SCBI 15 (Copenhagen), 42345 (cataloged as an imitation). Near EF. Extremely rare. An important addition to the small corpus of known coins for this mint.
