LUCANIA, Herakleia. Circa 281-278 BC. AR Nomos (7.80 gm). Head of Athena right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with Skylla hurling a stone; E behind / Herakles standing facing, holding club in right hand, bow and arrow in left, lion's skin draped over left arm; owl on club, [AR]IS left. Van Keuren 87; SNG ANS 77-79. Lightly toned, good VF, struck a bit softly. ($500)
