Rev. Plain, with the concave impression of the obverse. Niggl 632 (but only listed in silver). A lovely example of a modern medal made in the style of the great 16th century German masters. Virtually as made.
Ex Baldwin’s 57, 23 September 2008, 791.
Elizabeth Feuge (1902-1942) was a soprano, the daughter of Oscar Feuge and Emmy Feuge Geiss, who themselves were famous musicians. At least one recording of Elizabeth exists, from a concert in 1935. She was trained by her parents and made her debut in Dessau in 1921. She then joined the Munich State Opera in 1923, the year of her mother’s death. This medal commemorates one of her famous roles, that of Eva in the Meistersinger.
