CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 480-470 BC. Nomos (Silver, 8.02 g). ΤΑRΑϞ (retrograde Phalanthos, nude, riding dolphin to left, both arms outstretched; below, open cockle. Rev. Wheel of four spokes with dolphin swimming left in one quarter. Fischer-Bossert 90 (V48/R59). HN III 833. SNG ANS 1234 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen 770 (same dies). Vlasto 93 (same dies). Very rare, the cockle symbol is only known from this die. Good very fine.
