LYDIA, Tralles. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (33mm, 22.10 g, 12h). Philippus Centarianus, grammateus. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / The Abduction of Persephone: Hades in galloping quadriga right, carrying off Persephone. RPC VII.1 487; BMC 169 (same dies). Near VF, brown surfaces, some minor pitting on reverse. Rare.
Possibly RPC 487.6 (thus ex Kimpel 25, March 1969, no. 1998), although we cannot confirm.
