Laureate head of Apollo right with long hair / FILIPPOU in exergue, charioteer driving biga right, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left; DU and horse's leg below horses. Thompson, ADM II, 71 var. (horse's leg in exergue); SNG ANS 294 var. (same). EF. Apparently unpublished variety. ($2000) According to Thompson, ADM II, coins of this series (DU) with the horse's leg all postion the leg in the exergue. Coins of the series subsequent to this (X), when containing a horse's leg, all place the leg below the horses. Thus, it is possible that the present specimen may bridge the two series.
