Postumus as Hercules
Postumus. Romano-Gallic Emperor, AD 260-269. AR Antoninianus (22mm, 3.00 g, 7h). Treveri (Trier) mint. 5th emission, 1st phase, AD 268. POSTVMVS A VG, radiate bust left, draped with lion skin and holding club over shoulder / IOVI S TATORI, Jupiter standing facing, head right, holding long scepter and thunderbolt. RIC V 310; Mairat -; AGK 38b; RSC 160. Near EF. Well struck upon a flan of great metal for issue. Rare depiction as Hercules.
