THESSALY, Larissa. Early to mid 4th century BC. AR Drachm (18.5mm, 6.06 g, 6h). Thessalos to l., naked but for chlamys and petasos flying in the air behind him, holding a band with both hands around the forehead of a bull leaping l., all within a dotted circle / ΛΑΡΙ above, ΣΑΙΑ below, the Σ reversed, bridled horse galloping r., its rein trailing below, all in an incuse square. SNG Ashmolean 3860 var. [the Σ not reversed]. Good VF, pleasing old collection tone; this reverse variety very rare.
