THESSALY, Larissa. Late 4th - early 3rd century BC. AR Trihemiobol (10.5mm, 1.13 g, 3h). Head of the nymph Larissa three-quarter facing l., wearing an ampyx in her hair; border of dots / ΛΑΡΙ above l., Σ to r. downwards, Thessalian cavalryman riding r. on prancing horse, wearing chlamys and petasos. Traité IV, 725, pl. CCXCIX, 13 corr. [what Babelon sees as an H in front of the horse is the letter Σ downwards]. VF, lightly toned and well centred but the reverse struck a little softly on a tight flan.
The rider here has his hand lifted but there is no sign of whip or goad being held by him.
