THESSALY, Pelinna. First quarter of the 4th century BC. Æ Chalkous (15mm, 2.46 g, 9h). Helmeted horseman r., raising spear to strike at unseen adversary; border of dots / [Π]ΕΛΙΝ r. up, retrograde and upside down; ИAIKO[И] l. down, retrograde, warrior, wearing petasos and dressed in short tunic, advancing l. and looking back, his r. leg stepping on a higher level than his l., carrying shield with his l. and spear with his r. This type combination not found in the references consulted. Good Fine, nice green patina, the obverse marginally off centre; a small die break above the warrior’s head on the reverse.
