(534.1) THESSALY, Pelinna. Late 4th to early 3rd centuries BC. Æ Dichalkon (17.5mm, 5.23 g, 12h). Head of Mantho veiled r., border of dots / ΠΕΛI-NNAIΩ[N] above circular, helmeted Thessalian rider wearing chlamys and short tunic, charging r. with couched lance on prancing horse. Rogers 432. VF, chocolate brown patina; minor peripheral die flaws on the reverse.


(534.2) THESSALY, Pelinna. Late 4th to early 3rd centuries BC. Æ Dichalkon (18mm, 5.10 g, 6h). Head of Mantho veiled r., border of dots / ΠΕΛINNAIΩN above circular, helmeted Thessalian rider wearing chlamys and short tunic, charging r. with couched lance on prancing horse; below, symbol bow, string upwards. This exact type not found in consulted literature. VF, attractive green patina, darker on the reverse.

Head of Mantho veiled r., border of dots / ΠΕΛINN[AIΩN] above circular, helmeted Thessalian rider wearing chlamys and short tunic, charging r. with couched lance on prancing horse; below, Π. This exact type not found in consulted literature. VF, grey-brown patina with a few areas of red.

Head of Mantho veiled r., border of dots / ΠΕΛIN[NAIΩN] above circular, helmeted Thessalian rider wearing chlamys and short tunic, charging r. with couched lance on prancing horse; below, Σ. Rogers 435. Near VF, dark green patina; the obv. slightly off centre.

Good Fine, dark brown patina, with traces of bronze showing underneath.
