THESSALY, Phalanna. 4th century BC. Æ Dichalkon (18mm, 4.72 g, 9h). Youthful male head l. / ΦAΛANNAIΩN above circular, head of nymph r., her hair bound in a sakkos tied at the back. Rogers 454, fig. 247; BMC p. 41, 11; see also CNG e-sale 250 (23 February 2011) 52 (same dies). Fine, dark green patina, struck on a generous flan; small obv. die flaw under the nose of the youth; a rare type with fine portraits, especially on the obverse.

Not in Rogers; Papaevangelou-Genakos does not mention a type with both obverse and reverse to left. Near VF, green patina with some red undertones; a very rare type.
