(589.1) THESSALY, Phalanna. 3rd quarter of the 4th century BC. Æ Chalkous (16mm, 3.08 g, 11h). Head of Zeus Peloris r. / Φ-A-Λ-A from above, r. down and circular, head of nymph r., her hair in sakkos tying behind. These particular obv. and rev. dies not found in the literature consulted; see Papaevangelou-Genakos period 2, plate 2, 16 for type. Near VF, green patina with some red areas; the rev. softly struck and with some surface marks.


(589.2) THESSALY, Phalanna. 3rd quarter of the 4th century BC. Æ Chalkous (15mm, 3.38 g, 2h). Head of Zeus Peloris r. / Φ-AΛA from below l., up and and circular, head of nymph r., her hair in sakkos tying behind. These particular obv. and rev. dies not found in the literature consulted; see Papaevangelou-Genakos period 2, plate 2, 16 for type. VF, green patina with some red on the reverse, the obverse marginally off centre.

These particular obv. and rev. dies not found in the literature consulted; see Papaevangelou-Genakos period 2, plate 2, 16 for type; see also CNG 79 (17 September 2008) 197 (both dies cut by the same hand). Near VF, green patina, obv. marginally off centre.
