THESSALY, Pharkadon. Last quarter of the 5th to 1st quarter of the 4th centuries BC. AR Obol (12mm, 0.76 g, 12h). Horse pacing r., border of dots / Φ-[A] above, K-P below retrograde, Herakles, naked but for lion’s skin wrapped over his l. arm, standing facing, head r., holding bow in his l. and club in his r., all within a shallow incuse square with rounded edges. See Helios 6 (9 March 2011) 502 (same dies) and Nomos 4, 1274 (same hand for the reverse die, but not same dies). Near VF, lightly toned; flan too small for the reverse die, part of the head is off flan; an extremely rare coin.
